Collect rent and record payments

Understand monthly invoices, part-payments, receipts and the balance still due.

Review rent before generating invoices

Check the property, tenant rent and billing month before creating invoices. Plans with monthly invoice generation let you raise the month’s invoices together; the Free plan supports manual invoices and receipts. Review existing invoices to avoid creating duplicates.

Record what was actually received

An entry in the app records a payment; it is not proof that a bank transfer or UPI payment succeeded.

  1. Open the relevant tenant or invoice and check the outstanding amount.
  2. Verify the payment in your bank, UPI records or cash collection.
  3. Record the amount received and select the matching payment method.
  4. For a partial payment, record only that amount and check the remaining balance.

Check the receipt and balance

Review the tenant, amount and payment details on the receipt. Check your collection summary after recording the payment. If you entered the wrong amount or applied it to the wrong tenant, contact support with the invoice or receipt reference before making additional entries.

Follow up on unpaid rent

Review tenants who still have a balance and use reminders where your plan supports them. Reconcile any payment the tenant says is already made before following up again. The sample demo shows how a part-payment changes the collection totals without using real records.
